In reply to: The western, that's not a western, is one of my favorite films! 's message, "Actress Barbara Rush is the sole surviving cast member of classic ensemble 1967 film, HOMBRE!" on Friday, January 04, 12:12:58pm

Here's the dwindling list of opening Credits Bat-Villains only listed in order of appearance:

1) JILL ST. JOHN (born 08/19/1940) [debuting as "Molly," (colleague of "The Riddler" # 1, portrayed by Frank Gorshin), 01/12/1966 series' premiere episode].

2) JULIE NEWMAR (born 08-16-1933) ["Catwoman" # 1, 03/16/1966].

3) LEE MERIWETHER (born 05-27-1935) [in "Batman" theatrical movie as "Catwoman" # 2, 08/03/1966 (movie debut date)].

4) JOHN ASTIN (born 03/30/1930) ["The Riddler" #2, 02/08/1967].

5) JOAN COLLINS (born 05/23/1933) ["The Siren," 09/21/1967].

6) GLYNIS JOHNS (born 10/05/1923) ["Lady Penelope Peasoup" (colleague of "Lord Marmaduke Ffogg," portrayed by Rudy Vallee), 11/23/1967].

7) BARBARA RUSH (born 01/04/1927) ["Nora Clavicle," 01/18/1968].

If one is persnickety enough to dis-count Lee Meriwether since she never portrayed "Catwoman" on the TV series, then the count goes down to six. Should one want to eliminate Misses St. John and Johns since they were "sidekicks"/"accessories" then the count goes down to four (Newmar, Astin, Collins, Rush)

The only actor on this list to have essayed a villain's role in more than one story arc is Julie Newmar.

B-b-bat's All, Folks!

In order to count as a villain or villainess the actor/actress has to be credited as such. "That Derek" is wrong, there's only 6 still alive. Jill St. John wasn't credited as a villainess & Lee Meriwether doesn't count for reasons already explained. (NT)Glynis Johns is credited as a special guest villainess so she does count.Friday, January 04, 06:09:37pm
