Dies at 84

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) A Hall of Fame songwriter has passed away at the age of 84.

Whitey Shafer of Central Texas, died Saturday, January 12, 2019.

Shafer was known for his work on some of the most well-known country classics such as "All My Ex's Live in Texas" and "Does Fort Worth Ever Cross Your Mind."

Whitey had many deep connection to Nashville and worked with the likes of George Jones, Merle Haggard, George Strait, Willie Nelson, and many others.

Shafer was inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1989.
