Interesting. Our Sears in nearby Troy, Michigan is located on a road called John R. It may indeed close.

Such is the ebb and flow of American commerce. Since I was a kid in the 1960s/70s, I've seen dozens of national and regional chains shutter their doors after decades of business. -Bullocks, Buffums, Newberrys, Montgomery Wards, Gemco, Fedco, Woolco, Service Merchandise, Woolworths, Whitefront, and many, many others go, by way of do-do bird.
