Subject: STACK FACT: It was nearly 50 years ago tragedy struck, when Mrs. Stack while driving to the airport (to pick up Mr. & Mrs. Fred MacMurray) was in a horrible crash (vehicle malfunction claim) killing one of her passengers. ...

Hard to believe such a Beverly Hills figure of so many decades, would have an unpublished obit weeks after her death.

In reply to: Dies at 86 's message, "Rosemarie Stack, actress & widow of Robert Stack" on Sunday, February 03, 11:25:00am

...On October 15, 1969, Rosemarie Stack was driving to Sacramento's Metropolitan Airport to pick up Fred MacMurray and his wife, June Haver, when the steering in the rental car she was driving locked. The car plunged into a concrete culvert, resulting in the death of Kathleen Lund, wife of actor Art Lund, and injuring another passenger, and herself. The once strikingly beautiful Mrs. Stack suffered internal injuries, and required plastic surgery. She settled in 1973 with the Lund family for $40,000, and lost her suit with the Ford Motor Company.

It's sad to read that the Lund family sued her. While tragic, sometimes accidents are just that, accidents, without any negligence. (NT)We'll never know if her claim about the steering wheel was true, or not.Sunday, February 03, 12:43:52pm
