Former Cure drummer Andy Anderson has reportedly passed away, aged 68

Anderson was a member of The Cure from 1983-84

Reports are emerging that former Cure drummer, Andy Anderson, has passed away. He was 68-years-old.

The musician last week revealed that he was battling terminal cancer, taking to Facebook to discuss his diagnosis.

Anderson said: Hi guys, I am and have Terminal 4 Cancer, and there is no way of returning back from that, its totally covering the inside of my body, and Im totally fine and aware of my situation, he wrote adding that he was about to begin treatment for the illness.

Whilst no official confirmation has yet been released, his death from the illness is being reported on Post-Punk.com and on Facebook by close friends of the musician.

One, Sean Dunmore, wrote: Im sure Andy Anderson would like [his] fans and friends who he was so dedicated to and loved so much to know, that very sadly hes passed away.

Gone to the next adventure, the next gig. Everyone has so many good memories of this kind and gentle man. He wouldnt want you to be sad but celebrate the joy in life.
