In reply to: obitchecker 's message, "MusicProf78's YouTube channel---the best channel for collectors and music lovers." on Wednesday, April 24, 04:27:13pm

On the evening of April 16 YouTube received a string of eleven legally-submitted ‘copyright takedown requests’ from IFPI for my postings of various Cameo-Parkway record hits dated 1959 to 1962 (yes, other copies of those identical tracks remain plentifully available on YouTube by other posters). Those eleven actions resulted in multiple ‘copyright strikes’ to the channel from YouTube, requiring them to shut down the channel and remove all of its videos after a one-week waiting period for possible resolution (which did not happen).

Throughout that week, my posting capabilities were suspended, preventing any new posts to MusicProf78 or other channels which I had created. As of Tuesday April 23 at 9:34pm, my YouTube account was terminated, the MusicProf78 channel “does not exist,” and all of its posted videos were systematically removed from public view (thus also emptying out my three ‘storage’ channels “The Rick Colom Collection,” “Bob Moke’s 1940s & ‘30s Pop Hits Jukebox,” and “Bob Moke’s 1950s & early ‘60s Pop Hits Jukebox”).

According to YouTube’s rules & regs, my situation falls under the Lifetime Ban category. With my account permanently suspended, I cannot create a new channel, I cannot post to any other previous channels I may have created, nor can I even comment on anyone else’s YouTube posts….at least not under my current Google-registered email address and (possibly) from this IP address. I will look into alternatives.
