Republic Pictures leading lady Peggy Stewart passed away this morning. She co-starred with all of the studios top stars of the 1940s and continued into the 50's, 60's, 70's and beyond with an array of solid performances. She really never stopped working and even appeared on the modern western, "Justified." Always smiling and happy to talk with fans, Peg (June 5, 1923-May 29, 2019) grew up in Atlanta with her older sister, Pat. They knew my Mom (also from Atlanta, who just turned 97). Peg's dear friend, Julie Rogers Fox Ashley Pomilia, was with her every day since she went into recession 3 weeks ago. Four weeks ago, I was with Julie and Peg at her assisted living residence and we laughed and laughed. She was always in good spirits. Bless you, Peg. We thank you for all of your wonderful memories.
