In reply to: I always wondered how long she lasted after that fire? 's message, "I remember as a kid reading Mancini's mother-in-law was severely injured from a fire stemming from her electric blanket in her mobile home! ..." on Friday, June 14, 05:13:19pm

CULVER CITY, Calif. (AP) _ The 81-year-old mother-in-law of composer Henry Mancini died Thursday of burns suffered when her mobile home caught fire a week earlier, the composerís publicist said.

Josephine Roberts died at Brotman Memorial Medical Center, said publicist Sandy Friedman of Rogers & Cowan. Funeral arrangements were incomplete, he said.

She suffered second- and third-degree burns to her legs in the fire Christmas night in Malibu.

The fire at the Point Dume Mobile Home Park, 35 miles west of downtown Los Angeles, apparently was started by a short circuit in Mrs. Robertsí electric blanket, Los Angeles County Fire Department spokesman Terry Dillman said.

A neighbor heard screams and pulled the elderly woman from the burning trailer.

Friedman said Mancini and his wife, Ginny, had visited Mrs. Roberts daily during her hospitalization.
