I think that the Collings Foundation and others like them are putting money before safety. My understanding is that a ride on the B-17 was $450. These aircraft have been "touring" the country as part of the Wings of Freedom tour all year. At some point something was bound to go wrong. Why not have a few weeks off during the year to do a complete examination and do required maintenance.

Personally, I have issues of folks going on a "fun tour" in war machines (new of old), let alone this antiquated lead stone of a machine with sub-par aviation standards than today's safety aircraft guidleines. (NT)So WHY are these put in circulation as "flying tourist attractions"?? Stick em in museums!Thursday, October 03, 01:33:09pm
