ormer UND and NFL linebacker Jim LeClair died Monday at Luther Memorial Home in Mayville. He was 69.

LeClair was a football player and wrestler at South St. Paul High School from 1966 to 1968. He played the same sports at Minnesota Crookston for the next two years, then played his final two years of football at UND, where he was an All-American as a senior.

LeClair went on to play 12 years with the NFLís Cincinnati Bengals, and two years with the USFLís New Jersey Generals. He was later head coach at Mayville State for three seasons.

He was elected to the UND Athletic Hall of Fame in 1985, the College Football Hall of Fame in 1999 and the North Dakota Sports Hall of Fame in 2014.

Services will be held Friday in Mayville, where LeClair had an insurance business.
