The widow of the writer Louis Ferdinand CÚline, Lucette Destouches, died in the night from Thursday to Friday. She was 107 years old.

Lucette Destouches, the widow of the writer Celine, died in the night of Thursday to Friday at the age of 107 years, learned AFP Friday from David Alliot, specialist of the work of the author of " Journey at the end of the night "and close to the wife of the author. "Lucette Destouches died peacefully that night in her sleep," said the biographer of "Madame CÚline", joined by AFP.

Former dancer, Lucette Destouches has sacrificed her life to Louis-Ferdinand Celine, tirelessly pleading for posterity to be indulgent with her genius as a husband who has not yet made her life easy. "It was my fairyland," wrote about his wife the author of "Journey at the end of the night" (1932) and "Death on credit" (1936), but also violently anti-Semitic pamphlets.

Born Lucie Almansor, she had met the writer (20 years his eldest) in 1936 in a dance studio. Married with him in 1943, she shared her life until the death of the novelist in 1961. She still lived in their house in Meudon, recently put on sale, but she kept the usufruct. She regularly received letters from all over Paris to listen to her memories.
