Lyricist and author Michael Colby writes on Facebook:

It was with deep sorrow I learned my lifetime friend, Ted D. Williams, passed away on December 1st. I first met Ted when he appeared in the original cast of Colby/Fradrich musical NORTH ATLANTIC. But I also saw this joyful, mutual-talented dynamo in the original Broadway cast of THE HAPPY TIME (as one of the kids) and the Barbara McNair/Hal Linden revival of THE PAJAMA GAME, as well as in HELLO, DOLLY! (with Pearl Bailey) and as one of the porters in ON THE 20TH CENTURY. He was the head Munchkin in the movie version of THE WIZ and would regale me with stories of the out-of-town flop A MOTHERíS KISSES (starring Beatrice Arthur; Bernadette Peters was written out of it).

On many occasions I called Ted to appear in my events and he was always a delight, giving extra pizzazz and humor to everything he did. I and his many friends and students will miss him greatly.
