Yohan, a member of the K-pop band TST died Tuesday at age 28, his record label has confirmed.

“We are sad to relay the most unfortunate, sorrowful news,” KJ Entertainment said in a statement. “On June 16, TST member Yohan left this world. The late Yohan’s family is currently in deep mourning.”

The cause of death has not been announced.

Yohan’s death is the latest tragedy to hit the K-pop universe and the latest star to die in recent years.

In December, Cha In Ha, a member of the K-pop group Surprise U died suddenly at the age of 27. The cause of death was kept private.

His death came just about a month after the death of two singers of the K-pop girl group Kara. Goo Hara, 28, and Sulli, 25, took their own lives after being subject to online abuse.

Kim Jong-hyun, the lead singer of the band hugely popular band SHINee also died in an apparent suicide in 2017.

Yohan, whose real name was Kim Jeong-hwan, first came into the K-pop scene in 2015 with the group NOM.

Two years later, in January 2017, he joined six other singers in a new boy band called Top Secret. The group reached the Korean Top 30 with their EPs “Time’s Up” and “Wake Up.” The name was later changed to TST.

In 2018, fellow TST member Lee Kyeong-ha was convicted in a sexual harassment case and left the group, according to the South China Morning Post.
