In reply to: jlp 's message, "Oct, 29th~Happy 100th Birthday! Actress Hilda Bernard, Educator Dorothy Hollingsworth is 100, Actress Carmen de Lucio is 100, Costume Designer Dimitrij Kadrnozka is 97, Actor Hagen Smith turns 90." on Wednesday, October 28, 09:02:06pm

Hagen Smith was born as David Allen Russell on October 29, 1930 in Los Angeles, California. He was the son of David Ashby Russell & Clare Ricker.

Despite eleven acting credits in the 1960s/1970s (as Hagen Smith), he seems to have transitioned more to writing, and is credited as "David Allen Russell" for his three screenwriting credits. Later in life, he wrote children's books, including "Bernard Wheel and the Lake Elsinore Boys" set in Lake Elsinore, California. He made a few appearances at California book signing events promoting his books, including one referenced in the article below published in the The Salinas Californian in July 2000. He is referred to as "television writer Hagen Smith aka David Allen Russell."

Here is a May 5, 2001 article from The Salinas Californian providing detail about his book and upcoming event.

On November 30, 1996, he married Christine E. Kwiatkowski (May 26, 1939-) in Reno, Nevada.

Hagen died as David Allen Russell on June 12, 2014. He was 83. His last known address was in Taft, California.
