August 12, 1931 - January 1, 2021

Roseville, California - Beloved father,Gerald Gough, 89, of Roseville, California, passed peacefully on the morning of January 1, 2021.

Jerry, as he was commonly known, was born in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin on August 12, 1931. A graduate of the Theatre Department at the University of Maryland, Jerry met his wife Kathrine Moore when they played the lead roles in "Picnic". Jerry and Kathrine remained married until her death in 2009.

Early in his career, Jerry taught history, government, and politics classes at Highpoint High School in Beltsville, Maryland; and served as a legislative staffer for the Maryland General Assembly.

Jerry was elected Mayor Pro Tempore of Greenbelt, Maryland; and spent the remainder of his long career in public service as a Government Relations Officer for the Washington Metropolitan Transit Authority (Metro). Occasionally Jerry appeared in films, commercials and television shows as an actor. Jerry was a member of SAG-AFTRA, serving on the board of the San Francisco-Northern California Local.

Jerry was a member of SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Rocklin, California, where he sang in the choir.

He is survived by daughters Maureen Decombe and Sally Wedemeyer, sons Michael and James Gough, Grandsons Elias and Jerry Gough, and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial mass will be held at a future date.
