In reply to: Though their scenes are brief, VonSydow and Broadway's Zoe Caldwell played Tom Hanks estranged parents in 2011's "Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close". 's message, "Today's (Jan. 12) pics are actor Max VonSydow and Broadway's Zoe Caldwell. ..." on Tuesday, January 12, 10:26:41am

one night when she attended a Theatre Conference at the Actor's Theatre of Louisville. She came into the restaurant I worked in - I was her waiter. Her young son got so excited when I knew who she was - he thought only New Yorkers knew her from the stage. (I had seen her in a play "Lillian" a few years before.) I told him that everybody knew who his Mom is. Her husband Robert Whitehead was with them. A very nice family, very un-theatrical.
