All over this planet there are very many religions/belief systems, and they think they, and they alone, have "THE TRUTH". Obviously they can't all be right; maybe none of them are right.
..... Christianity alone has about 3000 denominations/versions, and some churches are believed to be only viable as long as their members bring in enough money all the time. Good sales literature/preaching is required for that, and from time to time we must expect new, "improved", versions to be invented in order to increase, even maximize revenues.
