Our horseplay had got a bit out of control and we knocked over and broke an expensive lamp. My step-mum had popped out to the shop didn't know which of us had done it so she said we could wait for our dad to come home and sort it out. When dad got home from work he asked who had done it but neither of us confessed. He then left us in the room and said he would be back in 5 minutes and he expected an answer. We talked and decided that we should tell the truth and both of us take the consequences. When he came back we told him and what had happened. As my step-mum had already prepared dinner there wasn't time to punish us right away but dad tanned both of our backsides with his slipper that evening before bed. Every time I thought about it, the butterflies would not settle down. I think, looking back, that my mother would have thought that I was a little or a lot "off" for asking for such a thing and would not have taken me seriously at all. [ Post a Reply to This Message ]
