 Although it's been years since, I still get that butterfly and sinking feeling in my stomach when I recall having to get paddled in school. The extreme dread made time feel like it had stopped. It was usually over with pretty quickly. For most offenses it was typically 3 swats. But there could be arbitrarily extra ones added.
