For me, I'd say:

1.First time with a new implement. Remember my first paddle and belt spankings really well.

2. Tend to remember the details of spankings when I was older better than when I was younger. Probably because, they were somewhat less frequent and stood out more, and probably because, well, you just remember better when you get older.

3.) Spankings from folks other than my parents . . . school spankings, etc.

The one that stands out the most vividly in my memory was my last one, when I was 10. And actually I really don't remember that spanking itself so much as what lead up to it and what followed it.

My mother spanked me, pretty severely, unjustly and, out of spite, I refused to cry or show any sign of contrition. After she was finished I simply glared at her. I think she found that disturbing; that I refused to cry or show any indication that it hurt and was obviously quite angry when she had finished. My older sister was present at the time and I could tell she knew something dark had just happened and she didn't know how to deal with it either.

For days I didn't speak to her except when it was required.
She made no attempt to repair the rift she had caused...and I never hugged my mother again.

So that was pretty memorable.
