There were a lot of spanking games when I was a kid too. With my friends both male and female and my sister and her friends. We'd play "school" or "house". All spankings were pretty much bare bottom as most of us got spanked that way at home, and sometimes at school. When playing with my sister and her friends, I was usually the "dad" but sometimes I was on the receiving end as well. Many times the spankings were by hand but sometimes a hairbrush, paddle or flyswatter might come into play. There were a few times we used a belt too. While it was all in fun, sometimes the spankings stung as much as the real ones we got.

This topic got me to thinking about the past. I remembered that when younger, I would sometimes "spank" my teddy bears for being "bad." I must have been very young but I guess I was practicing to be a mommy someday! Back on the subject of comparing spankings with other kids, I did recall one very direct conversation about being spanked. I was probably about 8 years old or so and I decided to give two of my dolls a haircut. One of the dolls was a very nice one that my grandmother had given me for Christmas. I was spanked quite severely when my mother discovered my handiwork, and was still confined to my bedroom when my aunt and cousins came for a visit. My older cousin Barbara who must have been about 10 came in my room and asked why I wasn't coming out to play. I didn't initially mention the spanking but just said that I wasn't allowed to play because I had cut my dolls' hair that morning. She saw the dolls on my dresser and said, "Wow, did you get spanked?" I showed her my still red bottom. That led to some questions about what each of our parents used for spankings (her family had a paddle) and what kinds of things we got spanked for. I found out that both her younger brothers had "gotten their tails paddled" by their father for fighting at the breakfast table that same morning. When I was allowed to come out of my room a short time later, I felt a comeradetie knowing that my cousins were also suffering the effects of a sore bottom!
