Was at the Miss Souhegan Valley show last night. Katy P. looks great since Miss NH in April. She has a great personality but for once I'd like to see her take herself seriously. I am not saying this because I want to bash her, it is just an observation. It is time to start presenting herself as a grown up and serious contestant/contender for the title. I think it is time for Miss New Hampshire to set some guidelines of what is expected. Two years ago the girls dressed up, had their hair done (not in an elastic), and the crazy shoes are out of control. Hopefully this will all be addressed at both Orientations. The dresses are so short these days. Lots of them wearing little dresses that you can practically see up when they stand up on stage or they are so short and tight and low cut. I'm so happy this is being posted. At one of the last pageants I thought some of the teens were 'Miss' contestants with their extremely short dresses and 4 or 5" heels but once they introduced themselves to the audiences they were about 15 or 16! I think you are talking about the 9th graders who are trying to look like Misses and their parents are sitting in the audience. We also have Misses who are acting like 9th graders. The Misses are MIA except the same girls who are always at every event and pageant. How can anyone get better when they don't show up. Surprised by the Director's response. If the girl's dress is not lady-like do something about it. Not blast people who are telling you the girls look inappropriate. I don't see the post about the teens as bullying in any way. If anything it concerns me that the co-director of the teen pageant is up in arms because people are pointing out that the teens are dressing completely inappropriate for their age. If it were me I would be so THANKFUL that people are bringing it up that my girls are getting negative feedback and use it as an opportunity to talk to the girls about what is appropriate for the TEENs to wear. The parents may assume that because their daughters are in the public eye with a crown on their head that they have to dress their girls like a Kardashian on the red carpet.
