Subject: Pro-star Laptops

This message was a reply to a post that is no longer there, so I thought as long as I typed it I might as well post it as a new post in case anyone out there can use the info...

I bought a ProStar laptop a little over three years ago. It ran great for the first 2.5 years and then started having some problems. I'm still using it after switching out the hard drive (it was starting to develop a lot of bad sectors) and having the motherboard replaced (a long, long story). My main complaint about my model (3550) is that the connection where the AC cord plugs into the laptop is flimsy and easily breakable (this is what led to the motherboard replacement). As for the company, they're not bad. Support has been pretty good for me. And they do have some cutting edge stuff. My laptop has a desktop chip in it at a speed that wasn't available in a mobile chip at the time I bought it. This causes it to run kinda hot but it works.
