Christina and her Mom were a pain in everyone's butt. if you called her twice to follow up and make sure she was doing what she was obligated to do, or called to ask heer to stop doing something etc she whined to the few friends she had and next thing you know you were accused of "stalking her". Where he got a raw deal was getting falsely accused of taking Laura to Fran Skinner and her Dream Team. When MAO found out that Laura had worked with Fran, Amalia and MAO threw a fit and called the WI directors. He got thrown under the bus for Laura working with Fran, which was absolutely ridiculous. Fran and Doug were both helpful to Laura and she would not have won without their help. MAO's fear of Fran is ridiculous and reflects poorly on them. He was one of the early defections from the Miss Illinois board under Amalia's reign of terror and went back to Wisconsin, where he had worked before. But Amalia was constantly trying to have his badge access at Miss America blocked or have him blocked from judging state pageants.
