Abuse is abuse. It doesn't matter how much times passes. There are old men who were sexually abused as boys when they were in the boy scouts. By your idiotic way of thinking, they shouldn't be upset over it, because it was a long time ago. Any old women who were raped as young girls should also just get over it, right? It was a long time ago.

No one other than pedophiles would react positively to stories about kids being sexually abused.
