Hey Big Brother Tanner:

CONGRATULATIONS, DUDE on scoring your l,000 point of your high school career!

TANNER! TANNER! TANNER! TANNER!

What was the shot like, that you scored your l,000 point.

Did you go for a layup and swish?

Or was it one of those NOTHING BUT NET, long shots?

That is cool your school has a l,000th point Club.

Our school does, too!

It has been awhile since the last player has become a member of that club at our school.

We four would like to become a member of our school's l,000 point club.

Mark has the better chance of us all to achieve this, unless us other guys start burning up the net like he does. He's our team leading scorer so far each game, this season!
Because of this, two of his basketball awards was MVP and leading scorer on the team.

Good Luck Tanner, and continue to keep scoring the baskets.

Okay, what is your secret?

****************************************************

Hey Brooks,

See you posted you had a wrestling meet last Saturday?

How'd you do, Little Brother?

Your a winner in our eyes, no matter!

Hey, we posted about this sometime back, and maybe you answered it and we didn't see it or got lost in the Archives but, we need to have you talk wrestling with us to teach us things that you do.

Such as how do you maintain your weight?
How much do you weigh and what weight class do you compete in, etc.?

What takes place when you do a weight-in, etc.? You just weight your wrestling uniform, etc., right?

We know you wouldn't do this but, we've heard some guys if they are having trouble and might be over weight a little for an upcoming weight-in might cause themselves to throw up to lose weight. That is wrong to do and GROSS! Hope you don't do that? Or done it? We'd have Tanner kick your little butt if you did this!

Describe some wrestling holds, how do you take down a guy, and things like that?

How are points awarded to you, etc.?

As you can seen we no nothing about wrestling but, want to know more about it.

Teach us, Brooks, please?

If you like, you can post a separate post about answering these questions if you like? You could do it when you tell about your wrestling meet from Saturday.

-Mark the Athlete, Drew, Jake and Sean

Mark and Hoopsters,

Thanks much for the congrats, it really means a lot coming from fellow hoop players.

What kind of shot was it? Well, it was nothimg fancy, no layup, long shot three pointer or great jump shot, it was a simple put back from an offensive rebound. Jayden, one of our back up Guards was in the game and took a shot which missed, I beat the defender for position under the basket and went up for the rebound. I grab the rebound as it was coming off the glass and tapped it in - nothing fancy, just basic basketball.

About a minute later the other team knocks the ball out of bounds and they stopped the game and the announcement was made that I just broke the 1000 point level. Being this was a home game, I got a standing ovation from the crowd, my coaches and team mates shook my hand the opposing team and coached did like wise - even the refs gave me a congrats. After that, game resumed.

I am first player at my school to break the 1000 point barrier since 2006. My school doesn't have lot of 1000 point players, but we have had a few over the years.

What is my secret? I wish I knew for sure, but I guess it is a combination of hard work, good coaching and good luck. I have had a couple of great coaches in both middle and high school who worked with me and helped improve my game. Every off season since I have been in high school, I have worked on improving my shooting ability - I have gone to open gyms and practiced. My high school coach always challanged us to take at least 20,000 practice shots in the off season and I always did so - some years it was closer to 30-35,000. And, lets not forget dumb luck.

Keep playing hard and working to improve your game, you wil do well before you graduate.
