I am from the Golden Age of Girdles 40s, 50s, 60s, and trust me you are right the girdles back them were far far better made and far more beneficial then what is made with shapewear and spanx. Contrary to what you hear women really did love wearing their vintage girdles daily.

It might take some serious digging to locate a professional corsetiere who could duplicate a vintage girdle. Try this: https://lucycorsetry.com/research-corset-brands/corsetiere-map/ you might be able to locate somebody to help out.

Let us know.
