Agree with what you say, as it makes sense, but for example:
Say I have three girdles:
1. Rago 6210 downsized by 3, so a really tight girdle.
2 and 3. A pair of moderate control girdles.

For me, the end result feeling is different for each order I put them on:

1 first, then 2 & 3, feels the tightest
2 first, then 1, then 3 feels less tight than above.
2 first, then 3, then 1 feels less tight than either above.

Perhaps it is just me and my imagination, but that is how I feel.

BTW, yes pulling on additional girdles over the first is so much easier.
Pull ons, especially extra firm ones that have been downsized, can be a real pain.
I know they can be rolled on, but I never quite got the hang of that.

Mixing and matching various girdles yields some interesting results.
I don't really know why people here complain about modern girdles not being as powerful as vintage.
With downsizing and layering, you can achieve every bit of control the 60's girdles had.
Although I will admit that the 60's girdles were prettier and more sexy looking.

But that's water under the bridge.

JP
