Too bad they don't rate girdles' firmness pressure in in-Hg, like they do medical compression hose and pantyhose.
That would be much more definitive.
The level of firmness has always been a nebulous thing, even in the past.

I always wear the 129-3604 doubled up, which is one of the reasons I have five.
With two, there is no question that it is extra firm, even by 60's standards.
I would rather wear two, than downsize to a medium, for a couple of reasons:
1. easier to put on / take off when it isn't downsized too far.
2. I think downsizing too far puts a lot of stress on the girdle, causing it to wear out quicker.

Speaking of leg circulation in another thread, I don't have that problem.
I have slim and very shapely legs, just the right proportions in all areas.
My legs are not hairy either, a thin layer of blonde hair, completely disappears under sheerest pantyhose.
At 69 years old, I can give any 40 year old lady with shapely legs, a good run for her money.
I find most LLPGs to be disappointingly loose on my thighs.
The 129-3604 has tighter legs than most other LLPGs, which makes me happy.
When wearing two, I am definitely aware of the tightness on the legs.
