i got a new doctor a few months ago and the first visit they told me i needed a tentus shot but i said no cause i do not like needles. so then my next visit they not only tried to get me to take the tentus shot but they also told me that i would need an pneumonia shot to and i said no to it cause i hate needles. i have talked to someone about possibly getting the shots in my butt and they said no way it would be better to have the pain in ur arm instead of ur butt. so right now i am not getting the shots. but i was wondering if arm or butt shots would be better for a person who is afraid of needles? if i get it in the butt then i won't be able to see it go in. so how bad do butt shots hurt? is it posible to get a tentus and pneumonia shot in the butt, and what can i do to ease my fears about them?

Yer a bunch of big babys, its not the needle that makes your arm or butt sore, its the type of medicine that is injected & reg tetnus is a very small dose that is givin in the arm about 1 cc or less, but it does make yer arm a bit sore for a few hrs, the tetnus that is givin in the bum is the immune tetnus gobulin which is givin if you don,t rememeber when you last had a reg tetnus shot, so in that case you get 2 shots, 1 in the arm &1 in the butt,Its just a lil pinche, a hornet sting hurts worse than any shot i ever had & thier stingers are the size of a small hair, Its the venom they inject that causes all the hurtin just like a reg shot, if ya need the frickin shots then take them, its better to have a few hrs of a lil pain than to get sick or croake. Man the morticians would love it if we did not have preventive medicine as that would make all of them millionaiers in a very short time period, Last thing those peeps want to hear about is healthy people if ya get my drift.....

Fred,,,we hear what you are saying and value your "opinion". Here's the deal,,some of us (ME) have had unbelievable pain or things go wrong with shots as kids due to the negligence or lack of caring of the "giver".You may not have had this happen to affect you for the rest of your life. When i cut my fingers on my left hand a few years back,,I had to go to the hospital to have them sewn up and put back together. Anyways,,this doctor and some "intern" came into my room and explained that they were going to do a "nerve-block" on my left arm,,and explained the needle,,and where it was going. I said Hell no,,and that they weren't going to do that. They left the room,,came back with the stuff,,I made the statement with authority that I did not want that done. They came at me,,and the doctor said''This will be over before you know it". I took BOTH of my legs,,and shoved his A** OUT THE DOOR. I maid my point,,and was wheeled to the other building where the hand surgeons were,,told them what had happened,,they agreed that that was uncalled for in a professionall setting for them to come at me like that,,and anyways,,there was moderate tendon and ligament damage that "They" needed to take care of versus the hospital emergency room. I told them I was an electronics technician,,used BOTH of my hands,,Hated needles,,and so forth. He said,,we will only stick you once,,and with a very small needle,,nothing like the other one,,LOL,,put you out for about 20 minutes and that's all it will take to fix this.He said the way they were going to sew me up probably would have resulted in obstructed use of 3 fingers on my left hand.I let them start an IV,,no big problem there,,,and an hour later I was getting ready to go back home. That's my story from 1998. I still hate needles,,,and always will.
