The abuse (spanking/corporal physical punishment) of a patient by a parent or caregiver is unacceptable, if not illegal behavior, particularly in a medical setting. Any doctor, nurse or other trained medical professional, not wanting to jeapordize or lose their license, would not let this occur in their presence and domain (where they work) as they're responsible for what goes on there with their patients.
