If you want the needle to hurt then it is the technique you use. I thought everyone knew that. You don't just jab it in like you are supposed to. Use a large gauge size like a 16G and then alcohol swab the site. Don't let it dry but instead, keep it wet. First before you actually insert the needle, you barely touch the skin with the needle point. (This activates the brain into knowing it's going to hurt here) Then you very slowly break the skin as you slowly push the needle in. Even only go about 5 millimeters and hold it there for a few seconds. It will begin to burn and maybe even dribble some more alcohol on the site. Then push it the rest of the way in. It will hurt using this technique. I had an old hag do a punishment injection on me and I felt all of it.

I had a shot right before spine surgery and didn't feel the needle at all......BUT

My heart began to race when the nurse said I have a shot for you...

I was pissed because a minute after, the medicine burned like crazy and thats the last thing I wanted before being rolled in for surgery. It supposedly was some medicine to dry me up.

But I had 4 spine surgeries before that and do injection was given. Go figure!

So while I was being wheeled in, my butt hurt!

Tim
