You are partially right. In 2011 they only did sean nos dancing and group set dancing competitions in the dancing categories.
HOWEVER, Comhaltas is very open to suggestions, so if you wish to participate in any particular dance styles (ie. Jig, Reel, Hornpipe, Slip Jig, Trebl Jig, Treble Reel, etc) if you email the contact person and request those dances be added they will make every effort to do that for you ... of course by requesting them it also implies that if they are added in that you'd participate ... as they are only beginning to do the competition .. they are only offering that which is requested.
