Each saturday was bath day at the school I attended. The boys went down to a separate bath area in the lower part of the buildning. We attended school also on saturdays.

There we had to strip naked and go into a bathroom. We stood in small tubs and had to wash all our body.

The uncloading and bath were supervized by an elderly women which apparently only had this as her occupation at the school.

She used to teach us how to wash ourself properly. I do not think this washing procedure was mandatory, but was a relict from former times where not all children had proper opportunities to take abath at home.

But we liked it and all attended.

The bath for the girls was at the other end of the building, and boys used to spy on the girls through a half-open winow. The window was inside a fence that we used to climb over.
