I will let Jean submit a generous bid for he
and I seeing as the Euro is so much stronger
than the dollar at this time.
I was able to make a purchase for some camera gear from New York today, where finally the exchange rate worked in my favour for a change! I think it's the first time I've ever been able to do this actually. It's weird seeing the CAD conversion as LESS costly than the USD price. Many times Canadians would refer to American money as "real dollars", jokingly... usually to poke fun at our awful exchange rate, in the not too distant past. Somehow 1 loonie = 0.67 USD is still burned in my mind. Now I'm not so sure. If this keeps up, we may eventually use American dollars as toilet paper instead (BTW, you wouldn't want to use a Canadian dollar as toilet paper, ever!... nor $2 for that matter — yet another reason to use the "almighty" American dollar! j/k) I'm sorry if this post sounds a bit offensive in any way. I don't mean it to be. It's just that these long cold winters sometimes give me assholitis. 'Tis the season. It's catchy, and it's going around.
p.s. What's really scary now is that the current game of Monopoly doesn't use cash anymore... instead there is an electronic banking version of the popular board game. So even monopoly cash is losing perceived value too. Now that's bad.
