Subject: Class of 1965 Arena

The new athletic facility, The Class of 1965 Arena, is going up fast.

Since the webcam at gocolgateraiders.com is pointed at the less developed northern end of the project you will be able to see more action from the tweet below just added to colgate.edu

Thanks Steve. This sure beats the view of that gravel pile that doesn't seem to change from day-to-day. Looks like they are making good progress.

In 2-3 weeks we can expect the entire perimeter to be similar to the tweet's south side of the building site today. Just a matter of time, then, for the webcam to give a better and more representative impression.

Go 'gate!

The roof on the student Union is being replaced this summer. They are stripping off the slate and replacing with a clay tile.
Don't know if I love that but we will see.

Not sure if clay tile is accurate. I learned it's simulated slate- big cost savings when replacement was needed. I think we can trust the administration with the outcome re preserving the beauty of the campus.

Also, Sanford is getting a new roof. Slate there has been very problematical. We are getting a metal solution.

The contractor described the project as clay tile -- but they have a simulated slate version.
