Subject: Langel may have some surprises?

Colgate men's basketball coach, Matt Langel, may not have completed his recruiting for the upcoming season. So far five recruits have been signed according to verbal commits, Two power forwards, two small forwards and one shooting guard. Also we have two small forward transfers who will be eligible this years as sophomores. One transfer, Tom Rivard, will be competing as a non scholarship player and one freshman recruit, Sam Lindgren is also non-scholarship, according to Verbal Commits. Most important according to the Verbal Commits scholarship board both junior centers, John Fenton and Wyatt Hagerty have decided for personal reasons to no longer remain on the team. This means that currently all our front line players are underclassmen with no centers on the roster, although Dana Batt a 6ft 9in freshman power forward could play center and 6ft 8in freshman Malcolm Regisford a power forward could also play some center. We probably still have three or four available scholarships. You have to wonder if Langel has any late commits in the works. I believe the 25th of June we have an elite prospects camp on campus. Could Langel be working on some late big men recruits at this camp for the upcoming season or a key big man transfer for next season? Last year the list of basketball recruits was not released until July 8. It looks like next year will be a rebuilding year or does Langel have a big surprise coming.

other than VC - which often makes mistakes - do you have a source for Rivard being non-scholarship? That would be very surprising. The timing of all the CU reports on this site is strange, since most of the info is very old.

I'm still counting on Coach to come through with a surprise or two from the Philly area. He's got connections there, right? Go 'gate!
