If Melville's long run isn't called back he rushes for over 100 yards.
How may drops were there? Would certainly help his stats a bunch--and also would have helped open up the running game.
He also missed some wide open receivers that would have led to scores.
This probably says the right plays were being called.
Execution is another thing.
And I certainly have no idea if the right players were out there.

That being said, UNH has absolutely put it to Colgate the past few times they have played (this includes a game against a Colgate playoff team). This was the first time in three games UNH didn't put up 50.
26 points really doesn't sound so bad.

As for Goldrich, he hurt his ankle in the 3rd and left the game.

This game was Colgate mistakes and missed opportunities costing them a shot at winning the game and not Colgate being physically dominated (for the first time in a long time).

If Colgate could have done anything offensively at the end of the game, they could have stolen it. That has not been a remote possibility against UNH in a long time.

At this point, Colgate has played two games.
Navy is a good FBS team.
UNH has been to the playoffs eleven consecutive years.
It's impossible to say how they will be this year but these teams have proven themselves to be very good teams over the past decade.

Against Yale, Colgate will have two senior starters on O and two on D. Seven seniors in the two deep. That is still a very young team.

Including Wingenroth, there will be nine freshmen in the two deep. Ten if you count Martinsen at the two positions he is listed.

There should be around 15 senior starters next year (as the first class of scholarship players become seniors). Another class of freshman will come in and the nine freshman in the two-deep will push for playing time.

The team is getting better.

With a little bit of offense, this team will have a great season. The plays are there. They just have to make them.

We expected to be 0-2 and we are. Be realistic, season starts this week vs Yale, another tough game but at least we have a decent chance. A win this week starts a great season or, not saying it.

How about turning down the volume on the scoreboard, now that is obnoxious listening to rap music between plays.

Frank Zappa, was there ever a time in your life where you liked loud music that didn't appeal to old people?
