is it possible that this was planted by those profs opposed to our athletic profile to fire a shot across the bow of our new President?
I am suspicious.

The report attempts to play devil's advocate, but the overall theme does not feel positive. My first thought about Balakian - and others - is that no one is forcing them to stay, but maybe their fondness for Colgate is exactly why they were so vocal to being with. Perhaps the article should have interviewed athletes themselves and heard what they had to say. A 50+ year old arena is not obsolete and yes, 38 million is a lot of money, but so many schools have spent so much more. Colgate is not alone.

What did Bourger Varsity Football House cost Lafayette, alumni or not?

Or TD Bank Sports Center Arena at Quinnipiac?

The next Bloomberg article will probably be Colgate's wasteful spending on athletic scholarships.
