Don't know why you say bad news. Colgate is a much improved team and they are familiar with UNH. Should be a lot of Colgate fans at the game from the New Eng. area. Go 'gate beat UNH.

Was hoping for a trip south, maybe Richmond or Jim Madison.

By again I meant we've played at UNH in the playoffs already.

No home game, tho. Did they get their QB back? The were a different team in the second half after he was hurt.

UNH won the game this year 26 to 8. UNH only scored 3 points in the 3rd and 3 points in the 4th. Without these to field goals, UNH outscored Colgate 20-8. Colgate was even with them in passing and UNH had the edge in rushing by about 70. No turnovers and few penalties plus Colgate's improved play eliminates that margin and Colgate wins. Looks like a pretty even match to me. Go 'gate, beat UNH.

Hope so. Thank God we got an away game. It won't be hard to top the 500 or so of us who were at the game yesterday. Go Colgate!

Yes, their QB from the 'gate game is back, but all things considered I would give Melville the edge over him. Go 'gate, beat UNH.

We'll need to be at our best with some of these ominous stats for 'Gate:

Makes sense that UNH would host Colgate. NCAA likes regional match-ups and UNH beat Colgate at Colgate. Both teams are 7-4 and have finished stronger than they started. UNH should host.

Colgate has done poorly against UNH over the past 20 years. I like that this is the team Colgate has to play in the playoffs. It's time for Colgate to grow up and be everything they can be. There's no better team to do this against than UNH.

In terms of stats, UNH has given up 45 more yards on D than they have on O. Can't imagine many teams in the playoffs give up that many more yards than they gain (especially if they aren't autobids). Still, the QB Colgate saw the first half of the game is back--and healthy. A lot of UNH's toughest times this season came when he was hurt or hobbled.

In the first game against UNH, Colgate had drives to the UNH 22, 18, 14, 17, 35, and 9 without getting any points. Colgate also had two 50 or so yards plays called back. Colgate has been very good in the red zone over the second half of the season. If Colgate converts, they can certainly win.

I like that Colgate has introduced the option, empty backfield, and flanker screen to the offense. These plays all help to get 15 or 29 the ball in space. I like they they have the confidence to run these plays at any point of the game--that's a huge difference than the past few years. Even letting 6 throw the ball on third down when 15 was hurt against Lehigh was big (and he threw a really nice ball). Good to see the position gaining this level of trust.

UNH did a very good job of getting the corner against Colgate. Think having 2 playing outside linebacker will help. Need to set a hard edge on D. Defensive play in general has gotten better. Wonder if Colgate goes small at the other OLB.

It's a great opportunity for these guys. Hope they are excited and attack on both sides of the ball.

Go 'gate!

[> Rush stats favor CU -- Gate Raider, 11/22/15 12:41:14pm Sun

Looked through the stats and the comments say UNH has trouble against the run. That is good for Colgate, particularly if all three RB's are back to form. UNH could have fits keeping track of Melville and the RB's. Colgate can control the clock against UNH and they can put a lot of pressure on the QB and the UNH QB knows it. He will be sacked several times. He suffered a high ankle sprain at Kerr and those injuries take a long time to heal, sometimes a year, and easily recur. I think Colgate's defense is underestimated because of the scores through the year. I like match. Thinking positive, Colgate's signature win will be a huge turning point for the team and the now scholarship PL. BEAT UNH!

Sagarin has a 6 pt advantage for UNH. Plus 3 for home game gives them a 9 pt advantage.

[> [> [> CU fans at UNH -- Gate Raider, 11/22/15 3:10:16pm Sun

When 'gate played at Holy Cross in the 2003 championship run Colgate's side of the field had hundred's of fans in the seats. I suspect there will be enough Colgate fans to support the team. So make that Sagarin prediction plus 6. Colgate can handle that.

[> Re: Anyone here? -- gate, 11/22/15 4:19:48pm Sun

Definitely like the draw...a lot more than Fordham's.

My concern every game is pass defense, and UNH can throw. The sideline pass gets us every time. We will need to match them with a run offense. I'm sure they are expecting it. It didn't help Fordham last year vs. UNH, and they had Edmonds.

We took some unfortunate penalties yesterday, but overall we have improved there. Hope we remain level-headed and play smart.

Would have even more confidence if we could kick fg's. When every point matters, leaving them on the field in the red zone because of a weak fg is frustrating. Going for it on every 4th down is bold, but in the playoffs it can definitely be viewed as a weakness.

Even if we are 9-pt underdogs, a close loss would be better than an embarrassing one.

Gotcha on the field goal kicking. Whatever happened to it?Last year superb and this year kind of a thump. Is it the line the kicker or a combination or maybe Colgate just needed to go for seven.

The kicker. Low and sidewinder doesn't work outside of PAT ranger and barely works there.

UNH is charging $25 for a ticket. I'm not sure that is required by the NCAA or not. If it is UNH's decision to charge that amount, that could raise a good amount of funds which would have allowed them to bid high. Now they have to hope they get enough fans willing to pay $25 for a game that starts at 3:30. Doubt there are many fans farther than about 2 hours away that will travel that far for a game that starts that late. ESPN3, I suspect, is dictating the start time. TV money and NCAA collusion strike again.

$25? $25? That's as ridiculous as us charging $25 for the UConn women's hoops game at the Cott Dome.

I would pay that and more to watch Colgate in a playoff game. What do they charge in Lake Placid for playoff hockey tix? Why is that any different? Am wondering if UNH students will be back on campus...hopefully not. We had a nice contingent in Hamilton on Saturday despite no students being present; glad to be there.

Did we really get outbid? Assumed UNH got the nod b/c they beat Colgate H2H. Have read that the Wildcats are 45-3 (give or take) on their home turf since 2005...not the best Raider odds.

Anyone else question the bracket integrity?

I would pay $25, too. However, around Hamilton, I wonder how many somewhat casual fans would come up with that amount if the game was at Kerr. Husband and wife with a couple of kids, parking and food, it starts adding up. And, it is on ESPN3.

For $25 I'll skip the game and go hunting, again.
