Not sure why Colgate has to "do" something for him...entrance to any game is free, facilities are good, supporting classmates and coaches seems reasonable. Sounds like he has a bitter attitude, which is only compounded if you allow campus safety to dictate your school spirit at a game, geez! If he sincerely does not enjoy football, then fine.

Once the hockey arena is finished, the surroundings might also be improved for better tailgating. Nicer concessions and a paved lot instead of a gravel mud pit would go a long way.
