got him a contract extension and probably a fat raise most likely (wonder if he went to bat for his assistant's?) must be nice seeing he doesn't even have a .500 career record.
and don't tell me the administration was scared to lose him, who was going to hire him, PENN? No way, no how that was happening under a new AD's watch.
kudos to him though...he got what he needed/wanted.

All you have to do is watch last year's loss to Navy....Lost a 12 point lead with 2 minutes to go....coaching disaster

Had enough futility -- Futility forever, 07/ 5/15 1:15:30pm Sun
1-Competing with D2 schools for recruits
2-Games with fewer than 250 fans and fewer than 100 tickets actually sold
3-Some terrible years coming up
What is the point? The transfer route is usually a dead end. The message to high school kids is, you'll come in and during your freshman year the coach will be recruiting somebody to play ahead of you as a junior.
And all the futility in a league that is among the weakest in D1.
It's time to consider stopping this. It's too depressing.

Hmmm. Body language?? If I was a 2 star recruit, had minimal talent, wasn't willing to work hard to get better, didn't like constructive criticism, and wasn't playing much or at all........I'd have poor body language, too. The entire coaching staff, not just Langel, are doing a commendable job with what they have. And if you don't agree, where do you get a better staff?

Fenton is enjoying the rest of his Gate experience. Didn't want to sacrifice that just to play hoop.

If Austin is charged with being a primary option 'gate is in a world of trouble with this years upcoming team.

Hard to imagine the aforementioned are blaming Langel. C'mon, guys. If you've watched the last four years, the strides the teams has made since Emmitt left have been monumental. Although the W column is still lacking, the Langel teams are better. The whole Patriot League is better. Look up the league ranking.....in the middle of the D1 pack. Why the recruits don't come.....good question. With the players Langel has had, Boeheim wouldn't have won more games. And transfers? If you can't get freshmen, what's the alternative?

Hey "Hoopie" I thought you were supposed to get freshmen...and stating that the strides under Langel have been "monumental" is something more than a stretch, don't you think? This year looks like a poor one at best and we don't build our teams with transfers. My strong guess is that by the time Langel leaves Colgate his record will be worse than Emmitt Davis'...and I'm not totally dissing Langel either...coaching hoops at The Gate is no easy chore and let's leave it at that...

Yep, freshman should be the first choice, but I remember a couple transfers who now have their names hanging from the rafters at the Cot. Hey, careful what you wish for.
