Subject: A Poem What?

A Poem What?

What is it about the poem that rhymes,
it always has to make the same sound two times,
Is that particularly clever or sly,
Can't some people just do it on the fly?

Or a poem that has the same rhythm and flow,
no reason to rhyme, not with the meter so fair.

Or is a poem a matter of grace, of beauty found alive,
a wondrous melody, silk and lace, a pleasure to be tried,
until the passion runs it course, the embers bank to glow,
and gentle rustlings touch the skin, poetic songs to show.

Is a poem just word sounds that click,
that course though the veins,
that make one think
start to stop?

Or can a poem be nouns, adjectives, adverbs, weaved so tight strongly
thickly poured in steams of colors blending to embrace densely round.

Or can you just say what you want,
whatever,
and be it a poem cause
it feels
like one. You know, like
something important you just said
about your feelings,
what somebody did
to you.
Like some light in your head went off.

Well, you think about it, think, just, well decide,
don't run from the concept and find some hidey-hide.
If you cogitate, for a piece of time, you may just find,
if you listen, to enough people, with opinions to bind,
that anything's a poem if it feels right, is that right?
Or maybe it's just too dark to see anybody's light.
