I am quite familiar with urethral sounding. I use van buren sounds. Van buren sounds are shaped like the letter "J". 26FR is a perfect fit for me. Very important to clean the sound well before and after use - I use 99% rubbing alchol. I also clean my hands and the tip of my penis with such alchol before sounding. Sound should be well coated with a water based surgical jelly.

It is very important that when does not have an erection during insertion or removal. For a man who is a little older, this is less of a problem. I also find there are certain things which will make me impotent for a few hours - certain over the counter cold remedies, certain over the counter sleep aids, etc. Don't take any more than the recommended dose. Valerian herb is one of the best, safest and legal for this. Often these will not prevent an erection but will make help to control the erection.

The sensation for me is exquisite. It is not painful when done right. Never force it - let the weight of the sound and gravity draw it in. Once the sound slips inside the prostate it allows for some nice stimulation. an erection may occur. Don't attempt removal until the erection subsides.
