Subject: I wish I could have seen her at the 70th reunion because she absolutely is a wonderful representative of everything that Miss America aspires to be. I love her.

In reply to: 's message, "I am not writing this to bash her, I am going to state what is verifiable. Susan had a tough time with life after Miss America. She married an older guy and the marriage failed, and she struggled with weight gain, depression and alcohol. She even attempted suicide at one point. She spent her whole life preparing to be Miss America and had competed in about 100 pageants prior to winning Miss America. Once she had one Miss America, she struggled with transitioning into life without pageants. She came back for the 70th reunion in 1990, but she hasn't been back to Miss America since." on 12:24:34 04/19/24 Fri

No but supposedly her grandfather had been accused in a KKK-related murder back in the 1950's or 1960's. But I don't recall anything about Susan witnessing a murder. (NT)No name
