Her first runner-up had been a double preliminary winner, and it seemed obvious that she was going to be the next Miss WI. It truly was one of those WTH moments. Anyway, the judges must have known what they were doing because fast forward to Miss America, Mary-Louise changed her talent to "Il Bacio" and it won her a talent award. She received styling help and interview prep and was definitely a contender for Miss America. But that was the first year that only the top 5 performed their talent, and she didn't make the top 5. I believe that Laura wore the same talent gown at Miss WI that Mary-Louise used on the Miss America stage.
