Subject: They might say the Philippines is a rising star but whatever improvement they have in the economy has not trickled yet to the poor. From what I see here in the Philippines, things haven't change much. Actually, a lot of investors and non-investors alike are very frustrated with the horrendous red tape and bureaucracy at government offices and agencies and not to mention the corruption that still happening. The red tape and bureaucracy along with the high cost of electricity which is even higher than the more industrialized country of Japan is a big turn off for prospective investors. They said they are trying to change that but when will that happen? As an example, applying for a Philippine passport, there are so many requirements you need to procure before you can get your passport.
