Hi
I agree with you. What can we do to put som energy in here.
I visit here often but it is not so much activity anymore.
Maybe everyone is really buisy. I think though that we really ought to tell the world about our friend. He deserves it. He must be one of the most sympathetic persons alive. Shall we organize a worldwide appreciation campaigne on his behalf.
What do you say
B-L

well, i'd have to say fargo, as that was the first film i saw him in way back in 1997, at film school.

i like dancer in the dark, and the big lebowski too.

as for the more "hollywood" films, Armageddon is pretty decent....

i mean, i've seen pretty much every film he has been in, to be honest, i'd like to see him on the stage.

he's going to be in the up coming wes anderson film The Life Aquatic too, which is bound to be interesting, i loved the royal tenembaums.

ooh, a total side note, is it just me or is this board REALLY difficult to read and keep track with?

i think you guys should get an ezboard, i think it'd be easier to navigate, and more people would find it.

i'm in scotland by the way :)

Hi!!

I'm here! ::wave wave:: I check here every few days to see if anything new is happening, but haven't said anything... guess we've all gotten a little bit lazy on talking about Peter! :)

You're right, there should be more of our favourite guy on the Internet, he is great! Hopefully when the Brothers Grimm film comes out we'll get chatty again!

Hi and welcome! Great to have new people here! And you, Cartooncheryl! LOL

Yeah this year has been quiet... but next year will hopefully be bursting with PS-movies!

He's sure one under-rated actor - shame on people who don't give him enough credit! *shaking finger angrily at every direction*

Tell us, what Peter-movies do you like best?

Hei Minna and all the others!

I have been lurking but haven't posted, shame on me. We all are to blame if nothing is happening here. Let's change that now.

My favorite Peter movie, oh well, what can I say, I like so many of them. Maybe Dancer in The Dark. In that movie he is absolutely breathtaking. I also adore Hamilton, but I liked the series even more than the movie. The serie explains things in more details and brings on depth to the story. Peter is equally brilliant in both, of course. He is fantastic in Fargo and unforgettable in Armageddon and I absolutely adore his part in The Lost World (Jurassic Park II). Too bad his part is so small, he he. Did you notice he is swearing in Swedish when he is running away from the compsognathuses, the little dinos? I noticed that when I was watching the DVD.

Hi Arctic Lady!
Yeah I think we all can be accused of pure laziness... shame on us all!!! :)

Oh I loved Peter in Dancer... althouug I hate the film otherwise. Fargo was brilliant as whole, Hamilton-series I've now watched over and over again despite the jumping tape... thanks B-L, and I think that series really is better to the movie. And Peter in Armageddon... LOL I love him in that one! and in Jurassic Park too :) It was fun to hear him swear in Swedish and did you see him in Minority Report? YIIIIIKESS!!!! LOL LOL LOL His entrance STILL makes me swallow hard..... :D)))))
Well actaully, he's been good in every movie I've seen him in.
Oh by the way, "Hitler" has been shown in Britain, in some channel about a week ago, so there may be a chance that it will be shown on continent too.

Let's keep talking....

Hi,
yeah, i saw Hitler "the rise of evil" a few weeks back, (i live in the UK).Peter plays Ernst Rohm (you probably all knew that, sorry :)), leader of the SA. He was very good (as usual)...i won't spoil it for those of you on the continent who haven't seen it...

i had a look at a diary of someone who has been following the brothers grimm filming in prague, the movie looks very impressive, and i think filming has finished.

http://www.smart.co.uk/dreams/grimfact.htm

there is a funny picture of him there

In IMDb there is one pic too, of some party, there were Peter, Matt Damon and some third man in that photo, all looking a bit weird.... But I think they still have to film for a couple of weeks, I heard somewhere the filming was first scheduled to end in late October but they need some extra weeks nevertheless. I guess Gilliam has it a bit hard to stay in schedules, but what I've seen of him, those films have been worth waiting for, to those who can appreciate his wit. I just loved "Life of Brian" and "Jabberwocky" and "Time Bandits" and "Fisher King" and that disgustingly funny "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas"... So I REALLY look forward to seeing "Grimm"!
AND Hitler AND Birth... :( I'm too impatient.

Why didn't you like Dancer in The Dark, Minna? I'm just curious. I think it was a great movie, very dark and sad but I loved it. I think David Morse is one of the most underrated actors in Hollywood and he did a fantastic role in this movie. The weak man in a friendly disguise... it was so chilling! Peter was great too, the lovelorn man waiting to be loved in return.

One of the most hilarious scenes in the movie is the scene where the boy got a bike for birthday present and is learning to ride it. David Morse and Peter are standing side by side, watching the boy and suddenly Peter says: "Women and rust are the same." David turns to him, astonished, and asks "What?!". Peter says again: "Women and rust are the same. My father used to say that. I never knew what he ment." And they both burst into laughter and turn away from the camera. It is soooooo funny and it gives me a warm feeling. I wondered if David and Peter became friends during the shoot.

Some facts about the life and times of Ernst Röhm - there might be some minor spoilers, so who wants to avoid them at all costs, might want to skip the following:

Ernst Röhm was one of the oldest leaders Hitler had by his side, he took command of the SA in 1921. He did have some disagreements with Hitler and when Röhm in one speech declared that SA is the true army of National Sozialism they became hostile to each other. A list was made in great secrecy of the leaders who should be executed, Röhm was among them. Röhm was surprised in a hotel in Bad Weissee, with two other senior SA officers, when they were in bed with their boyfriends. They wre arrested and send to Stadelsheim prison. Röhm was offered the traditional pistol but he refused to accept it. Röhm was shot in his cell, protesting his loyalty to the last.

LOL I hated and loved the movie. I loved Peter in it, and admired David Morse, and Björk was just fabulous, but the movie... it was tormenting. I had tears in my eyes on the rail-road scene and cried my heart out when Jeff was meeting Selma in the prison... A few weeks later I decided to see the movie again, thinking it would be easier, but I was crying my heart out already on the railroad... Lars von Trier seems to want to torment people - Breaking the Waves made me feel even more bad and after hearing about the rape-scene in Dogville I decided I had seen enough of Trier.
I loved the bike-scene too, I really would like to know what Peter's father had meant with that sentence... it's from him, vT said that in the document on the making of the film.
Oh and have you seen Peter in "Windtalkers"? You can wind over everything else in that one but do watch Peter... lol his rugged outlook... eh Cheryl? :o)

Hmmm... let me think.... ehhh...

OH YEAH!!! :D :D :D Mmmmmmmm!!

Nothing could be finer than Peter Stormare all rugged... swoon! I don't mean to go on in a kind of "lustful" way here, but you started it, Minna! Seriously though, I quite prefer him all unshaven and dirty, as opposed to neat and tidy.

Still haven't seen "Dancer in the Dark" yet, but with the way I've been lately, I may need to skip that for awhile. I actually found myself crying at the cartoon "Futurama" tonight! And it's a comedy! Yeah, you are right about winding past most of the film "Windtalkers." First off, the scenes of the film didn't really match what the story was supposed to be about. The worst part is, they didn't use our Peter nearly enough. What are they thinking??? :)

Oh rumours tell that in Grimm Peter will be BALD with LONG MOUSTACHE!!!!! :D)))))))

But really, in Windtalkers, like in almost every movie, they really should have used him more. In "Mercury Rising" his part was over in a blink of an eye and even our Swede-hating criticists were angry for such waste! But in Minority Report his ...... hmmm..... entrée made his short part absolutely unforgettable!!! I still feel sick when I remember it... LOL

Rugged? Hmmm, yeah... oh yeah! It would be kind of interesting to see him bald, though. I can't imagine it right now, but it might as well suit him. Remember how gorgeous Jason Isaacs looked in Black Hawk Down, totally bald!? Some guys actually look better bald than with hair.

Dancer In The Dark is a sad and heavy movie to watch, but it is brilliant still. I bawled my eyes out when Selma got the eyeglasses of her son in her hand... ***bwaaaaaa*** It was heartbreaking!

Peter is seriously underused in Hollywood and even when he is appearing in some movie he is hidden in some minuscule role. What a waste. I wish the producers would discover him, I mean discover in a big way!!
