Allocine.fr has always such interesting news! Maybe you have already heard of this project, but it was totally new to me. The casting looks really really interesting: Peter as Satan, Keanu Reeves as Johnny Constantine, Tilda Swinton, Rachel Weisz, Gavin Rossdale and Djimon Hounsou.
Hellblazer is based on a comic book by Francis Lawrence, script is by Mark Bomback and Frank Cappello. The movie is said to open in October, 2004.
Yi-haaaa! I can hardly wait! I think Gabriel Byrne did a great job as Satan in End of Days... but I think Peter could be even more spectacular.

Face à Keanu Reeves, Peter Stormare incarnera Satan, l'ennemi juré de Constantine, dans l'adaptation du comic "Hellblazer" signée Francis Lawrence.
Constantine a trouvé son méchant. C'est en effet le patibulaire Peter Stormare, vu dans Fargo et Minority report, qui affrontera le célèbre héros interprété par Keanu Reeves dans l'adaptation du comic book Hellblazer que tourne actuellement Francis Lawrence. Relancé après avoir connu de multiples rebondissements, ce projet, auquel étaient d'abord attachés Tarsem Singh, réalisateur du thriller The Cell, et Nicolas Cage, est produit par les studios Warner Bros.
Face à un joli casting
Réécrit par les scénaristes Mark Bomback et Frank Cappello, ce long métrage fantastique mettra en scène la lutte acharnée que livre John Constantine, un homme marginal doté de pouvoirs magiques et enquêtant sur des phénomènes surnaturels, aux forces du mal menées de main de maître par Satan qu'incarnera Peter Stormare. Sont également prévus au casting Rachel Weisz en femme policière, Tilda Swinton en ange maléfique, Gavin Rossdale en Balthazar et Djimon Hounsou en chasseur de démons. Rendez-vous est pris dans les salles françaises pour octobre 2004.

Wow! And I thought Peter in 8MM's "Dino Velvet" was evil! Interesting! Peter playing Satan reminds me of stories about cops going bad -- they stay on one side for a while, then because they see the other side so much, they end up joining in! :)

CartoonCheryl, I think Dino Velvet is among the best bad guys I can think of! Peter really nailed that character very well. I can still hear every line he had, his voice and the rhythm of his speech. I am a Nic fan too, but in this movie it was Joaquin and Peter that stole the show.
And I may be a sick puppy, but I find Dino Velvet very much a turn on too :-D. I'm weird, I know, maybe I should have my head examined.
