Subject: Looking for two old poems

My Mom used to recite poems her Mom had told her, but some she forgot the words to. One poem she remembered snippets of went somewhat like this:
"Only me, only me, sobbed in a weary tone.
Wrung from a [childish] baby heart that felt so much alone.
One got the kisses and kindly words,
And that one was Dear Marie.
One told her troubles to the bees and the birds,
And that one was Only Me."

There was a lot that went on about the different ways the sisters were treated, and then it ended with the unfavored child becoming gravely ill:

"Close to her cot one bright summer morn
A mother's love wakened at last.
The life of her child was ebbing away,
And tears of repentence came fast.
'Now Momma, you needn't cry.
It isn't your Dear Marie.
Perhaps the angels will have love to spare-
Just a little- for only me.'"

It's hokey, I know, but I would love to know who wrote it and when, and get all the correct words.

The other poem was about a boy on a burning deck. His father had lashed him to the mast so he wouldn't wash over in the storm, but then there is fire and he can't get loose.

I know they're not cheerful (Mostly my Mom would recite while we were washing dishes-I would be crying the whole time!), but I would love any info you can give. Thanks!
